Transform your smile with Porcelain Veneers

In just one visit to our office in Sunbury or Moonee Ponds, Drs Terry Rose, Helen Luo, and Meenakshi Rajcoomar can dramatically improve the appearance of your smile. We do so with a popular type of cosmetic dental treatment: porcelain veneers

Cosmetic Porcelain Veneers in Sunbury Area

These wafer-thin shells of dental porcelain are in demand for several reasons:

  • Veneers are a low-risk, no-hassle, yet high-reward treatment.
  • They are versatile; and can be used to remove everything from gaps between teeth to small chips and cracks.
  • The dental porcelain used to make the veneers is known for its ability to look like  the natural appearance and structure of tooth enamel.
  • Veneers also resist stains.
  • They are often the “secret” behind your favourite celebrities’ stunning smiles.

Each veneer is prepared to your unique specifications and accounts for your one-of-a-kind smile and facial features. Once the veneer is prepared, it is bonded or fixed securely to the front surfaces of the tooth. In turn, veneers disguise imperfections that are listed above as well as stubborn stains and shape and size irregularities.

Natural teeth that are veneered must be prepared as well. Preparation largely involves removing a small amount of enamel from the tooth. In doing so, the veneer that is bonded to the tooth fits well. Our dentists create veneers that look and feel natural. So, only around .5 mm of enamel is removed to prepare the tooth. Preserving maximal tooth structure facilitates gentle treatment and the strongest bond between the tooth and veneer, as well as the most natural form (appearance), fit, and function.

In addition to designing and placing conservative veneers, Smile in Style is also equipped to bond them in just one appointment. Other dental offices that market this treatment only have the knowledge and technology in place to plan and design the veneer. They cannot fabricate veneers. Instead, an outside lab makes each veneer.

At Smile in Style, we have complete control over the quality of the veneer. All of our veneers are made on-site using the CEREC system. Specialised software and our in-house milling machine are used to precisely shape and carve out veneers from a durable, high-quality block of dental ceramic while our patients wait. Adjustments can also be made in a matter of moments. Other practices would have to send the veneer back to the lab to be re-made. Patients would wait another couple of weeks for their veneers (yet again). And a third visit would be scheduled to check for fit and to bond each veneer in place.

Smile in Style’s process eliminates the need for return trips and the additional hassles and costs associated with them. Start the process of making over your gapped, worn-down, irregularly-shaped, or otherwise “imperfect” teeth new today!

Safe Amalgam Removal Protocol

  • Chlorella drink prior is given prior to treatment and a mouth rinse post-treatment. Chlorella can help bind and prevent mercury absorption.
  • Physical protective barriers - Masks, protective coverings, eyewear, in-mouth non-latex dental dams, and other steps are taken to prevent physical contact with mercury for the patient and staff.
  • Oral evacuation - Generous amounts of water are used to continuously rinse particulate matter from the mouth while suctioning it away. Combined with protective dental dams, this prevents patients from swallowing dental amalgam particles during treatment. Additionally, the rinsing helps lower the temperature of the filling, reducing the amount of mercury vapour released.
  • External air - A continuous supply of non-contaminated air or oxygen is delivered via a mask or similar apparatus, preventing inhalation of mercury vapour or particles.
  • "Chunk it out" method - Rather than using a drill to grind the filling down, it is carefully removed in the largest possible pieces, minimising friction, vaporisation.
  • High Volume Evacuation Suction is used by the dental assistant to remove amalgam particles in the mouth.
  • High Volume Air suction and Air Purifiers are used in the clinical room that is able to remove mercury vapour from the room.
  • Amalgam separator use - This device collects mercury-contaminated waste before it can enter the sewage system, allowing us to dispose of it safely.
