Porcelain Veneers from your Dentist in Moonee Ponds can quickly transform your smile

Society has changed a great deal in the past century. Although an unattractive smile was once commonplace, men and women today are highly aware of aesthetics. We no longer want to look “long in the tooth,” regardless of our age. Discoloration is something we wish to avoid and, fortunately, we can. One way you can ensure you never feel self-conscious about your smile is to perfect it with veneers from your dentist in Moonee Ponds.

Dr. Terry Rose, Smile In Style

Porcelain veneers have quickly become the second-most requested cosmetic dental treatment, coming in just behind teeth whitening. Most people can easily receive this smile-transforming procedure. All that is needed is healthy tooth structure. From here, veneers are customized and crafted from thin sheaths of porcelain, which looks so much like natural enamel that no one will be able to tell.

Some people assume that a smile makeover takes several visits to the dentist, significant tooth alteration, and a high cost. With porcelain veneers, it is often possible to correct multiple cosmetic concerns without all of that. Veneers can cover gaps in the smile, make a crooked tooth look straight, and hide resistant discoloration. Best of all, this treatment is tailored to your unique structure and colouring so that your smile looks natural.

To begin the veneer process, the teeth to be treated are shaped slightly to allow veneers to sit flush, retaining a natural aesthetic. Veneers are made in a dental lab to be wafer thin, which means that only a very small amount of tooth alteration is necessary. After this first visit, teeth may be slightly sensitive due to this alteration, but will regain full comfort after veneers are in place.

In less than two weeks and only two visits to our office in Sunbury or Moonee Ponds, it is possible to achieve your smile transformation with porcelain veneers. Dr. Rose may request a return visit within a few weeks to see how veneers are meeting your needs, and to add finishing touches, if necessary.

When you want maximum effect with minimal impact on natural tooth structure, and want your smile to look naturally attractive, porcelain veneers may be the procedure for you. Safe Amalgam Removal Protocol

  • Chlorella drink prior is given prior to treatment and a mouth rinse post-treatment. Chlorella can help bind and prevent mercury absorption.
  • Physical protective barriers - Masks, protective coverings, eyewear, in-mouth non-latex dental dams, and other steps are taken to prevent physical contact with mercury for the patient and staff.
  • Oral evacuation - Generous amounts of water are used to continuously rinse particulate matter from the mouth while suctioning it away. Combined with protective dental dams, this prevents patients from swallowing dental amalgam particles during treatment. Additionally, the rinsing helps lower the temperature of the filling, reducing the amount of mercury vapour released.
  • External air - A continuous supply of non-contaminated air or oxygen is delivered via a mask or similar apparatus, preventing inhalation of mercury vapour or particles.
  • "Chunk it out" method - Rather than using a drill to grind the filling down, it is carefully removed in the largest possible pieces, minimising friction, vaporisation.
  • High Volume Evacuation Suction is used by the dental assistant to remove amalgam particles in the mouth.
  • High Volume Air suction and Air Purifiers are used in the clinical room that is able to remove mercury vapour from the room.
  • Amalgam separator use - This device collects mercury-contaminated waste before it can enter the sewage system, allowing us to dispose of it safely.
